RI'S ASEAN LEADERSHIP STYLE BEING TESTED by Fardah

     Jakarta, Feb 24, 2011 (ANTARA) - Indonesia has been holding the ASEAN leadership two months now, and the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand conflict is putting the nation`s leadership skills to the test.
     On February 22, 2011, ASEAN foreign ministers held an informal meeting in Jakarta to discuss the armed clash between Cambodia and neighboring Thailand.

VISIT MAKASSAR YEAR 2011 NEEDS MORE PROMOTION by Ahmad Buchori and Fardah

     Jakarta, Feb. 19, 2011 (ANTARA) - The capital city of South Sulawesi Province, Makassar, has again launched a "Visit Makassar Year 2011" program to attract domestic and foreign tourists, but the event seems to lack promotion.
     There are more banners about political activities than those promoting the tourism event in the city`s streets. Pictures of the Visit`s mascot, a cock wearing traditional Makassar costume, are hardly seen at the city`s hotels and restaurants.

Marine resource-rich Indonesia sets higher fish production, consumption target by Fardah

      Jakarta, Feb 16, 2011 (ANTARA News) - Indonesia as one of the world`s largest maritime countries has about 5.8 million square kilometers of marine territory and 92,000 kilometers of beach and coastal strips, second only after Canada.
     As around 70 percent of Indonesia`s territory consists of water, it is but logical if Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister Fadel Muhammad has the ambition of making Indonesia one of the world`s biggest fish producers.

EVACUATION PROCESS OF INDONESIAN CITIZENS IN EGYPT BEGINS by Fardah

     Jakarta, Feb 2, 2011  (ANTARA) - Some 455 Indonesian evacuees are expected to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta international airport Wednesday (Feb. 2) morning, as the first fleet of thousands of Indonesians to be evacuated from Egypt where around 300 people were killed in the political violence.
      The government has sent a special Garuda Indonesia flight (Boeing 747-400) to take them out of Egypt on Tuesday evening (Feb. 1) at around 10 pm Cairo time, the Indonesian foreign affairs ministry said in a press statement here late Tuesday .
