   Jakarta, June 1 , 2013 (Antara) - After working for nine months and holding five meetings in four continents, the  The UN High-Level Panel (HLP) of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda finally completed the task to prepare a report containing recommendations to succeed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

        Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had the honor to submit the report to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York, the United States, on May 30, 2013.

    Jakarta, March 30, 2013 (Antara) - Members of the United Nations High-Level Panel (UN HLP) of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda issued a Final Communiqué that they described as an "ambitious yet achievable framework" in their meeting in Bali, Indonesia, recently.

        Co-chaired by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the fourth HLP meeting held on March 25-27, 2013, discussed how to build a global partnership and means of implementation for the development agenda.

    Jakarta, Dec 14 (ANTARA) - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon earlier this year requested Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to co-chair a High Level Panel of Eminent Persons to work on the post-2015 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

         "Today, I am pleased to announce that the following leaders have accepted my invitation to serve as co-chairs of this high-level panel: His Excellency President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia; Her Excellency President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia; and His Excellency Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom," Ban Ki-moon said in New York on May 9, 2012, during an informal meeting of the UN General Assembly.

INDONESIA MEETS SOME MDG TARGETS DESPITE CHALLENGES by Fardah

     Jakarta, Oct 20, 2012 (ANTARA) - Out of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set by the United Nations, Indonesia has been able to meet at least three despite facing many challenges as the fourth most populous country in the world.
     Having a population of 237 million, Indonesia has been striving hard to overcome problems such as poverty, high infant and maternal mortality rates, gender inequality, and infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDs, malaria and tuberculosis, in its efforts to achieve MDG targets.

         Jakarta, June 25, 2012 (ANTARA) - As the 2015 deadline for the current Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) approaches, the United Nations (UN) is gearing up for higher targets for the next 20 years by appointing a small high-level team to handle the task.

        UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has asked Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to co-chair a team called "High Level Panel of Eminent Persons" to work on the post-2015 MDG framework.

WAKE UP CALL FOR MEETING MDGs By Fardah

      Jakarta, Sept 17, 2010 (ANTARA) - The deadline for meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MGDs) is only four years away but some countries seem to be on the brink of failure as the number of poor people globally has not decreased significantly.
       The latest warning on a possible failure came from Amnesty International which said in its press statement on Sept. 16, that the MDGs are failing the world`s poorest people because governments are ignoring and abusing their human rights.

LAMBAN, KEMAJUAN RI CAPAI SASARAN PEMBANGUNAN MILENIUM

       Menurut dia, Indonesia masih belum mencapai kemajuan terutama dalam mengurangi angka kematian ibu dan bayi, meningkatkan kesehatan serta memelihara lingkungan hidup yang merupakan Sasaran ke 4, 5, 6 dan 7 MDG, jelas Erna kepada pers seusai menyampaikan pidatonya pada Pekan Air ke-2 yang diselenggarakan oleh Bank Pembangunan Asia (ADB).
